Every part of the rabbit is a very useful

Live rabbit for testing specimen by laboratories…

So it is in the hands of the potential rabbit breeder or farmer to determine to whom he should sell the rabbits to….

Hence the target market is high…..

Do you want to start a rabbit farming business in Nigeria???

Then here are the basic factors you must consider if success must be attained …

👉🏾PRODUCTION…. .

Rabbits are polygamous in nature and multiply rapidly
Rabbits start breeding at 4-5months of age

The gestation period for Doe(female rabbit) is 31 days and they give birth to 6-10 kits(baby)rabbits at once

Rabbits are able to reproduce seven times a year..

For reproduction to take place the buck(male) and doe(female)are kept together to mate

After which they should be kept in separate cage of house

One female rabbit can produce up to 50baby rabbits in a year

👉🏾HOUSING

Rabbits can be kept in cages, hutches or in a house…
Rabbits are always kept in a very clean habitat…

Their habitat must be clean at all times
Their living quarters should be spacious so that there will be enough room for feeders, drinkers, the kits and for expansion of the business..

Their housing should protect them from heat and humidity

It should not be too hot or too cold for them

👉🏾FEEDING

Rabbits eat processed feed or edibles, vegetables, leaves, shrubs and herbs…

They also eat grasses such as elephant grass, potatoes ETC…

I advised that you feed them twice every day

If you feed them processed feed then it is important that you find out the exact amount of feed they consume on a daily basis….

This will help you avoid and curb wastage…

Adequate supply of drinking water should be provided for them too

👉🏾EXPENSES

Rabbit Farming Business in Nigeria is not an expensive venture
